Why have a Consultation?

Have you ever asked yourself why your therapist will need to do a thorough Consultation before you have your first treatment with them?

This involves probing into your health and lifestyle, sometimes revealing some very personal information. (This is a good place to point out that all this is done in the strictest confidence and your information will never be used elsewhere)

Well, quite simply the answer is to ensure the treatment will be safe for you to have.

Whether you are having a gentle, relaxing treatment, or a deep massage there are a few medical conditions that prevent treatment .. these are known as "Contraindications".

Apart from your name, address, DOB etc  you will be asked about your health and lifestyle to ascertain the best treatment programme to help with any conditions or ailments you might have from a Holistic approach .. treating the body, mind and soul for maximum benefit!

The following guidelines will help you understand conditions that need to be treated with caution. I am always available for a confidential chat should you wish to discuss anything further.

When to avoid treatment -

There are a few conditions when treatment is totally contra-indicated and should not be performed at all.
